MiCAM01 is a high-speed and low-noise CCD imaging system with custom circuitry and digital signal processing technologies to maximize read-out speed and minimal noise levels.
MiCAM01 is a high speed neural and cardiac imaging system, which has been developed by BrainVision Inc. Original CCD drive technology achieves higher-speed and lower noise than that of existing imaging systems with the implementation of a commercially available CCD sensor. It is possible to image brain activity with minimal accumulation of data (averaging) at very good signal to noise ratios. MiCAM01 achieves maximum image acquisition speed of 1.4KHz at a spatial resolution of 90x60 pixels and S/N ratio of 60db.
Original CCD processor and drive technology allows high-speed and low-noise imaging.
The CCD sensor has 362x492 pixels as its original resolution, but a customized read-out drive pulse sequence has been implemented to combine several pixels together, which is called on-chip binning. Higher speeds and lower noise levels can be achieved with this on-chip binning than normal commercially available sensors.
Maximum Frame Rate of 0.7msec/frame (approx. 1.4 KHz)
In many cases of neural and cardiac imaging, the biological sample is very dark, and averaging data is needed. MiCAM01 can be adapted to almost any experimental condition.
